Beloved fashion house Johnston & Murphy’s (J&M) newest campaign is the definition of business in the front, party in the back. As a part of their new initiative to expand their repetoir of campaigns and advertising, J&M is putting forth the epitome of fresh, playful, and modern.

With the release of three short video clips and several well-captured images, photographers and directors Nick and Chloé have successfully captured the essence of Johnston & Murphy. The witty, 15-second films are exactly what the audience needs to fall head over heals in love with the houses’ new lines of shoes and apparel. The fun, clever photographs are also a sweet addition that showcase the beautiful designs in a way that is far from bland or boring, despite the setting being an office-space. This intentional situational irony is ingenious, and I applaud the 169 year-old brand on giving everybody a breath of fresh air.

Partnering with Yard NYC and production company Casey, while featuring Models Colin Baja, Jason Cameron, and Helen Mccusker, J&M has established their goal of cementing a place on the modern fashion stage. “For this campaign we really wanted to capture a modern take on work,” Stephen Niedzwiecki, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Yard NYC explained. “It’s about feeling good about what you’re doing and what you’re wearing while you do it. It’s a more playful take on work, but still professional for a heritage brand.”

I think it’s time to follow in Johnston & Murphy’s footsteps, and get the fun back in functional! As Niezwiecki says, “We should all learn to put a little levity in our work day.”
