Designer John Varvatos has teamed up with rock band KISS (who he calls his heroes) to be the face of his Spring 2014 collection ad campaign, which has been inspired by the band’s 1975 album ‘Dressed to Kill.’
The announcement was made Saturday by the designer during his Milan Fashion Week Show, which also happened to feature a surprise performance by the band itself.
The print campaign, shot by Danny Clinch via agency Yard, features black and white photos set in Brooklyn, with the band dressed in Varvatos suits. The five images started running immediately after the fashion show, but for print only the three group images will drop in March. Print ads are planned for The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Wall Street Journal, Playboy and the program for the 56th annual Grammy Awards. Read more about the campaign in behind the work.
